Letter from the Leadership

Miriam Krehbiel

Roger Underwood
 Vice Chair

At the essence of Heartland Visioning are people who care about making a difference in our community. This is one of the only organizations that asks the people of Topeka and Shawnee County what's important to them and then sets its priorities base on their input.

Through Heartland Visioning, I have seen more intentional efforts to bring together more nontraditional partnerships between the public, private, and not for profit sectors to assure a more holistic approach to community growth. These directly support NOTO, the Downtown redevelopment, the Riverfront Project, and our current work on the establishment of a Neighborhood Improvement Association in the Dynamic Core.

Join the efforts! Be a part of the change. Without sometimes differing positions, opinions and perspectives we will never arrive at the best solutions and ideas. We need to hear from and have participation from more than just the usual people and organizations. We need to know what the people of Topeka and Shawnee County feel we must do to achieve our vision of becoming "A Growing, Prosperous, Dynamic and Trusting Community".
