Public Invitation: National Parks Service Oregon and California National Historic Trails - Pappan’s Ferry Design Charette

TOPEKA, KAN. ― The National Park Service has identified the Pappan’s Ferry crossing in Topeka as a significant site on the historic Oregon-California Trail. Three to four members of NPS’ landscape architectural team will be in Topeka the week of Aug. 22-26 to explore ideas for interpretation and development of this historic site.

NOTO Arts District Master Planning – Phase 3 Workshop

The consultant team working with business and property owners, local residents and civic leaders on the future of the North Topeka Arts District has crafted a first draft of a District master plan based on input received from the community. On the evening of June 29, the team will conduct a final workshop open to the public that will review how the District can improve, develop and grow based on the draft plan, including expansion of its boundaries.

“Topeka Gives,” an all-day event centered around charitable giving, is slated for Tuesday, June 7, 2016 inside Fairlawn Plaza Mall. This year, 157 nonprofit organizations will be participating and the “match money” has grown to $73,500.00

Vote to share you top priority for the City of Topeka's budget. City of Topeka Budget Open House will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 SW 10th. In the parking lot that evening they will have two of thier bigger trucks for a mini Touch-A-Truck event.
